Everyone starts with three hearts, just like in Zelda. Characters lose or gain hearts depending on a super complex secret formula based on trust, conversational affinity, relationship dynamic, length of time known, and other important totally not BS factors that I made up.

▍Light Light Averly, aka "Snake". A graduate student in physics, probably based in the Pacific Northwest (US). My first partner. He has a sharp tongue and some really bad judgment sometimes, but I guess he's a good guy deep down. Has a friend or relative (?) who was really important to him. His reasoning is the opposite of how Hershel and I break things down. But that's why he's worth listening to. I really value his opinion. Probably he'd have some smartass remark if I said that, though. He didn't have to say those things about me, but he did. He's a better person than he thinks he is. I'm not leaving without him. ▍HERSHEL Hershel Layton. A softhearted British teenager who's interested in archaeology and fencing. Really likes puzzles, but somehow keeps getting caught in traps. He's got a bigger heart than anyone I know, but it's easy to let this deathtrap get you down. We've had some rough times and some really fun times together. I can talk to him about pretty much anything. Lately, it seems like I'm rubbing off on him...? Likes stars, dancing, and redheads. We'll get out of here together. ▍SASUKE Sasuke Sagami. Mostly a mystery. He looks like a middle-schooler, and he's from the Kanto area, judging from Snake's account. Moves extremely quietly, used to do kendo. Theory: into some kind of climbing? Kind of hard to read his face, but he bore that gash to his hand like it was nothing. Another weirdo like me and Jake. Whatever's bothering him, I hope he talks to someone about it. I could just be imagining things, though. Gonna get him to have some fun one of these days. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ |
▍JAKE Jake Muller. A Ukrainian guy who likes borscht and hates spending money. Doesn't say much, so it was really hard to figure out what he was thinking. I was paired up with him early on with Hershel, who vouched for him. When he voted Ally against us, you could've knocked me over with a feather. I'm glad I trusted Hershel's judgment on that one. Even more hotheaded than me, runs into traps a LOT. Despite appearances, is in his twenties (??). Balding, but don't mention it. I think I understand him a little better now. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ |
▍KUZURYUU Kuzuryuu Fuyuhiko. A short fella in a pin-striped suit. Talks really tough (compensation?), but he's as good as his word. That's the impression I get, anyway. Not afraid of getting his hands dirty. Abrasive, but good at puzzles. Whoever named him must have had some awful high expectations. He seemed really insistent that Hershel and Simon 'wait till they're married'... a closet romantic? Recent notes: You're alright, dude. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ |
▍EMA Ema Skye. Thought I understood her a little, but I guess not. Not afraid of blood or body parts (used to them?). Betrayed me and Jake during Round 7 for a first aid kit. Would've just given her the vote if she'd asked. Doesn't like talking about her problems. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ |
▍CLIVE Clive Dove. Spent a month trying to get into the cafeteria before betraying Piper. During Round 7, his opponent Zelos suddenly fell into a half day's coma. Mentioned he'd had trouble sleeping the past night. The story matches up. It's definitely suspicious, but evidence is everything. It's not even like I wouldn't understand, sort of, if that's what happened. I saw what happened to him. I want to believe in him. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ |
▍ZELOS Zelos Wilder. Seems like a smart guy, but he's betrayed two people so far -- maybe gotten played in turn. He came out ahead in points early, and he's been leading ever since... but I wonder if people are really going to start resenting him for it. Plays a mean game of Truth or Dare. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ |
▍PIPER Piper Chapman. Showed up with human bite marks on her hand and a bright orange prison jumpsuit on her person. Seems like she's got a real passion for following the rules, so how'd she end up in jail? Seems kinda familiar somehow. Maybe I knew someone like her in the past. ▍SIMON Simon Keyes. Introduced himself as 'Shy Monkeys' at first. From those loud clothes, I thought he might be in the entertainment business... only he seems like the kind of guy to get major stage fright. Frequently injured, frequently apologizes. ▍AKIKO A nice girl from Tokyo who loved video games and gossip. She was murdered to protect someone else's secrets. Someone shoved her into the cafeteria and secured the doors. The explosive device in her bracelet went off in response to detecting itself in an unauthorized zone. It happened on the night that Snake got himself stabbed in the hand. I was in the lounge, looking after him. If I had been with the others, maybe I could have stopped it from happening. But maybe not. No one heard the killer draw her away. How did he do it? It had to be someone she knew, which means... Deceased. |
